KOS TOWN

The capital and the port of Kos are located at the northeast coast of the island, opposite the Minor Asia. The city is a unique combination of traditional, medieval and modern architecture. The city even if it had been destroyed by earthquakes, it was rebuilt and today is a very beautiful city full of trees, mainly plane trees. The castle of Knights of Saint John stands impressive at the port and is connected with a bridge to the square of Hippocrates. The Temple of Apollo and the Ancient Theatre are worth visiting. The beach of Kardamena is one from the largest and most cosmopolitan beaches in Kos. During summer are organized daily excursions with small boats to the island of Nisyros.

ANTIMACHIA-MASTICHARI

The village Antimachia is one of the villages in Kos that maintains absolutely its traditional character. It is a very picturesque and romantic location, ideal for family vacations. In the traditional taverns you can try fresh fish and all local dishes of the island. You should visit the Venetian Castle, in order to admire the panoramic view to the island. There are a lot of small idyllic beaches and the most nearby beach is Mastichari beach. The village Mastichari belongs to the municipality of Antimachia and abstains 22 kilometers from the capital of the island. Here you will find one from the most beautiful sandy beaches with crystal-clear waters. In Mastichari there is also a small port and during summer depart boats for the island of Kalymnos. At the region around there are available a lot of hotels of every category.

KEFALOS

This village is located in the most southern part of Kos and abstains from the capital 43 kilometers. It is a traditional village with white houses and narrow streets. At the region around you can visit a lot of beaches, such as Saint Stefanos beach and Paradise beach. There is a big variety of hotels and restaurants and a lot of tourist shops. Do not omit to visit Kastri, which is a small islet at the beach of Saint Stefanos, the windmill and the monastery of Saint Theologos.

PYLI

Pyli is a traditional village in distance of 8 kilometres from the capital. The municipality of Pyli incudes the villages Saint Nikolaos, Saint Georgios and Amaniou. The most nearby beach is Marmari and in small distance you can visit the Byzantine castle. It is a calm, green region that is ideal, if you want to escape from the overcrowded centre.
