Beaches to visit in Ios
Gialos beach is the central beach of the island and abstains only a few meters from the port.ios boat You can go there, on foot or by bus that connects Ormos-Town-Mylopotas. This beach is very popular and for this reason offers a lot of restaurants and hotels, as well as water sport activities.
Mylopotas beach is the most popular and busy beach in Ios. It is located south-west of the centre and you can reach it on foot after 15 minutes walking, or by bus. It is from the largest bays in the island, 1 kilometer long, and offers restaurants, hotels, cafeterias and water sports. It is the favorite beach of the youth, which continue there the party of the previous night!
It is situated in the southern coast of the island, in distance of 23 kilometers of the centre. You can reach it by bus, or by boats that depart daily from the port of the island. It is a very beautiful location, which is separated in 5 smaller beaches, with sand or pebbles and crystal clear waters. It is the ideal beach for relaxing, swimming and sunbathing. You will be impressed by the fantastic environment! There are taverns serving fresh fishes and other seafood, as well as many hotels.
The beach of Agia Theodoti is a very quiet beach and is suitable for those who want to relax, far from the crowd. You can swim in the azure waters, enjoy the sun lying on the golden sand or have a delicious dinner in one of the restaurants. Agia Thedoti is accessible by private vehicle, or by the excursion buses, that organize there daily trips.

There are taverns and hotels available, but in general, Koumbara is a very calm region. The location is fantastic and you can enjoy a unique sunset, the best than any other point of the island!
Kalamos beach is found in the Eastern coast of Ios, in distance of 16 kilometers from the port. Driving to Kalamos you will see the monastery of Saint Ioannis, which is worth visiting. The beach is isolated and often there is nobody! Enjoy alone swimming and snorkeling in the spotless water!
Driving to Agia Theodoti you will meet two small exotic beaches that belong to Psathi. They are very quiet and are particularly popular to windsurfers, because blow there winds, suitable for windsurfing.
