Port of Piraeus

How to get there

Using a bus

You can choose between 4 different bus lines which head to the port of Piraeus and these are 826, 832, 833, 875. These buses move along gates E7 and E9.

Using a taxi

You will find plenty of taxi stations along the port of Piraeus. There are taxi stations in almost all gates. You can either take a taxi from the taxi stations or try your luck by catching a taxi outside the port. (see map for taxi stations)

Using the metro

You can also reach the Piraeus port by using the metro (subway). The green line arrives at the port of Piraeus and is actually the so called “HSAP” line. Its final station is the port. As soon as you exit the station you will see the port you will be facing gates E5 and E6. (see map) piraeus port map

Bus to and from the Airport

In case you want to go the airport or vice versa you can take the bus line X96. The bus stops where you can take the bus from are:

  • Start at Vasileiadi coast
  • Agios Dionysios
  • HSAP station
  • Karaiskaki square

How to move in the port

Transportation by bus inside the port is free and the bus stops are the following:

  • HSAP start
  • Agios Dionysios 1 OSE
  • Agios Dionysios 2
  • Ietion 1
  • Ietion 2

Wi-fi internet access in Piraeus port
In order to have access to the wireless internet connection in Piraeus port you need to have a laptop or a pda device or any other device that has wlan (WiFi 802.11). Furthermore you need to have a wireless internet connection card and your settings need to be as follows:

  • Piraeus Port WiFi connection: From Start/control panel/network connections, right click on wireless network connection, then choose view available connections. Choose SSID from the Port Piraeus WiFi network and make sure that the security is not open.
  • Explorer: Choose Tools/Internet options/connections. Then in LAN Settings/local area network the following should not be checked: Use a proxy server for your LAN Use automatic configuration script Automatically detect settings

 

Port of Rafina

How to get to there

By bus

In order to reach Rafina port you can use the interurban buses. These buses (KTEL) start from the center of Athens in “Pedio Areos” square and depart every half an hour to Rafina. Rafina port is almost 30km from Athens away.

By car

If you have our own car you can use the “Attiki Odos” (Attica road) or the Leoforos Marathonos. If you are coming from the National road Athens - Lamia, you need to enter Attiki Odos (Attica road). From Attiki Odos exit in Leoforos Marathonos and you will see directions to the port of Rafina.

From Rafina port you can travel to the following destinations: Tinos, Mykonos, Andros, Marmari.

 

Port of Lavrio

How to get there

By metro

There is a bus that can transfer you from the metro and suburban railway stations: Pallini, Kantza and Koropi.

By bus

You can use the express lines of the interurban buses (KTEL) “Koropi station - Porto Rafti/Avlaki” or the urban buses of the area to reach the port. The price of the ticket is 5€.

Ferry departures

From Lavrio port you can travel to the following destinations: Agios Efstratios, Alexandroupoli, Andros, Folegandros, Ios, Katapola, Kavala, Kea, Kythnos, Limnos, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Sikinos, Syros, Tinos.

 

Port of Patras

From the port of Patras you can travel either to the Ionian islands or to Italy. The port of Patras is in the center of the city and you can quite easily reach it either by car or on foot as soon as you reach the center. The port also has a modern passenger station where you can wait or enjoy a beverage. There also duty free shops since the port connects Greece with Italy.

  • Greece: Kefallonia (Sami), Corfu, Zakynthos, Paxoi, Igoumenitsa

How to get there

By bus

The interurban bus station (KTEL) is beside the port and is only 300m from the main gate away.

By train

If you use the train, the station in Patras is exactly in front of the main pedestrian entrance to the port.

By car

If you are on your own car, you will just need to follow the directions from the entrance of the city to the port of Patras and you will find it easily.

 

Port of Igoumenitsa

Ferry departures

From Igoumenitsa port you can travel to:

  • Italy: Ancona, Venice, Bari, Brindesi, Trieste
  • Greece: Corfu

How to get there

By bus

You can travel to Igoumenitsa by using the interurban bus (KTEL). The bus station is quite near the port.

By car

If you are traveling with your own car then you will need to follow the exit called “Igoumenitsa” from Egnatia Road.

 

Port of Mykonos

In Mykonos you will actually find two ports: the old one and the new one. The old one is not used anymore except for the trips to the ancient island of Delos. The new port is only a few meters from Chora away and you can reach the city either on foot (10 minute walk) or by taxi.

Port of Paros

Very close to the port of Paros you will find the main bus station where you can take a bus to almost all main destinations of the island.

Ferry departures

You can travel to the following destinations from Paros port:
Aegiali, Anafi, Andros, Astypalaia, Donousa, Evdilos, Folegandos, Irakleio, Ios, Irakleia, Kalymnos, Karlovassi, Katapola, Kea, Kimolos, Koufonissi, Kythnos, Laurio, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Piraeus, Rafina, Schoinoussa, Serifos, Sifnos, Sikinos, Syros, Santorini, Thirassia.

 

Port of Santorini

The port of Santorini is called Athinios and there are buses that can transfer you to different villages of the island.

You can travel to the following destinations from Santorini port:
Anafi, Folegandros, Heraklion, Ios, Katapola, Kea, Koufonissi, Kythnos, Lavrio, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Piraeus, Serifos, Sifnos, Sikinos, Syros, Thirassia.

 

Port of Chania, Crete

By bus

You can reach the Chania port which in Souda by using the bus. The bus will take you from Chania and will lead you straight to the port.

From Chania, Crete you can travel to Piraeus and from then on return to Athens.

 

Port of Heraklion, Crete

The port in Heraklion is the biggest port in Crete. There is a bus station (blue lines) outside the port where you can catch a bus and easily go to any district of the city.

Ferry departures

From Heraklion you can travel to other Greek islands as well as to Piraeus in Athens.


Here are the destinations you can reach by boat from Heraklion:
Ios, Mykonos, Paros, Piraeus, Santorini.
