Lavrio port
The port of Lavrio is located 60km southeast of Athens and is the third port of Attica. The port is a part of the village of Lavrio which can be reached:
By car
You can reach Lavrio from the north by taking the motorway "Attiki Odos" and following the signs up to Lavrio. You can also reach Lavrio from the south, by using the Leoforos Souniou and following the signs to Lavrio.
By bus
From Athens city center, in "Pedio to Areos" station you can take a suburban bus KTEL to Lavrio. The frequency of the itineraries increases during the summer. Tickets can be bought at the spot or in the bus.
You can reach the following destinations from the Lavrio port during the whole year:
- Kea island with NEL lines and Goutos lines
- Kythnos island with NEL lines and Goutos lines
- Psara island with Saos ferries
- Limnos island with Saos ferries
- Kavala with Saos ferries
The following destinations are reached during the summer months by NEL lines ferries (Panagia Thalassini, Panagia Tinou, Panagia Hozoviotissa): Ios, Mykonos, Syros, Paros, Naxos, Donoussa, Aigiali, Katapola, Koufonissi, Schoinoussa, Iraklia, Folegandros, Sikinos, Sifnos, Thirasia, Santorini (Thira), Anafi, Kimolos, Andros, Tinos.
The route to Kea (or Tzia) island is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes long, whereas the route to Kythnos islands is 2 hours long. NEL lines tickets can be bought in advance whereas Goutos lines tickets can only be bought at the time of your arrival at the port. During the summer the frequency of the itineraries increases.
