Ios port

The island of Ios belongs to the Cyclades islands and can be reached only by ferry. There are daily scheduled ferries that connect Ios with the main port of Greece, Piraeus, as well as with Lavrio port. The port of Ios is located by the capital of the city Chora, at the region of Yialos. The center of the city can be reached either on foot following the stone path or by using the local buses that will drop you off at the main square of Chora, by the Omer statue. From the port of Ios depart not only large ferries to Piraeus and to other islands, but also smaller ones to nearby islands (e.g. caiques). The journey time from Piraeus port is approximately 9.5 hours if you take the conventional ferry and 3.5 hours if you take the highspeed ferry. Conventional ferries also stop at other islands on their way to Ios, that is why the journey time is different.
