Hydra Port Information

Hydra town is amphitheatrically built on two low rocky hills around the harbour. The lack of cars or motorbikes is the main characteristic of the island of Hydra. The transportation from one region to another is only feasible with dorks; this makes the island one of the most graphic islands of Greece.
In case you need more information about ferry departures and arrivals at the port of Hydra you can call the port authorities at (+30 22980) 52279.

Getting to Hydra Port

  • The entire island of Hydra has been declared preservable and the vehicular traffic of cars and motorbikes has been prohibited in the port area. However the distance between one region from the other one is usually short.
  • Because of the absence of cars from the island, the transportation to the beaches can be made by sea taxis or smaller boats such as caiques that have frequent itineraries. The majority of the beaches in Hydra are in short distance from the centre, so you can approach them on foot.
  • If you have your own boat you can anchor in the harbour of Hydra or in the neighbouring small port, called Mandraki.
